How Morrow County Got Its Name

Once a Shawnee hunting ground, the land that forms Morrow County, Ohio was grouped together from parts of 4 neighboring counties in 1848. The newly formed county was  then named to honor a former Ohio governor, Jeremiah Morrow, who had served from 1822 to 1826.
